Part of a Larger World
Part of a Larger Goal

At Bronx Veterinary Center, we’re more than just your veterinarian. We’re a proud member of the local community—and an essential component of taking excellent care of our patients and clients is working to make our community strong and healthy. Here, you’ll find information about some of the organizations and causes we support, as well as potential resources for those experiencing financial challenges in providing care for their pets. If you have any questions or are interested in participating in any of our community projects, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinics

Getting our pets spayed and neutered is not only important in keeping them happy and healthy, but it’s also essential to control the local pet population. Every year, thousands of dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters across New York—many of them due to a lack of suitable homes.

We are proud to partner with the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and Positive Tails (both 501c3 non-profits) to provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for pet owners experiencing financial hardship. We also work with the Mayor’s Alliance to spay and neuter feral cat communities in the Bronx.

If you need assistance getting your pet spayed or neutered, please reach out to the Mayor’s Alliance, Positive Tails, or give us a call—we’re here to help!

Community Outreach & Education

We’re your friends and neighbors, and staying involved with and supporting our community is vital to our mission at Bronx Veterinary Center. Read on to learn about some animal welfare organizations we’re proud to team up with!

In addition to low-cost spays and neuters, we also work with Positive Tails to provide reduced-cost emergency veterinary care to pet owners in the community who are in need. We are thrilled to have recently become a Veterinary Affiliate of Paws of Honor to provide low or reduced-cost veterinary care to retired military and law enforcement K9s.

Animal Care Centers of NYC is the city’s largest animal shelter, and Bronx Veterinary Center works with their Surrender Prevention Program to provide reduced-cost veterinary care to pet owners who would otherwise have to surrender their pets to the shelter. We also offer a comprehensive, completely free exam for any newly adopted pet from the ACC.
