Dr. Luisanny Perez, DVM

Dr. Luisanny Perez, DVM

Dr. Luisanny Perez is a Bronx native who brings both local roots and veterinary expertise to our practice. Born and raised in New York City, she spent summers in the Dominican Republic with her family, developing a multicultural perspective that enhances her connection with our diverse clientele.

Dr. Perez earned her DVM from Colorado State University, complemented by a Master’s degree in Toxicology. Her professional journey includes valuable experience at NYU School of Medicine working with human pulmonologists, serving as a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield throughout veterinary school, and working as an on-call emergency surgery technician at CSU.

Her passion for animals emerged remarkably early—by age two, she was already attempting to befriend city pigeons, a true NYC animal love story! While she briefly considered careers as a mechanic or in research, her desire to help animals ultimately guided her path to veterinary medicine.

Dr. Perez particularly enjoys working with puppies and kittens, performing surgeries, and managing orthopedic cases. She continually expands her knowledge through professional lectures to provide optimal care for her patients. As a Spanish speaker, she takes special pride in serving the community by communicating with clients in their preferred language.

At home, Dr. Perez shares her life with two black and white dogs who resemble Dalmatians but are delightful mixes: Tux, a food-loving, couch-potato Border Collie/Pit Bull mix, and Espi, a chatty, toy-obsessed “super mutt.” She lives with her partner Johann, a fellow Dominican from the Bronx whom she’s known since middle school, and cherishes her large extended Dominican family. When not caring for patients, Dr. Perez enjoys relaxing at home, reading, exploring new foods, savoring chocolate and coffee, and taking her beloved dogs to the park.
